A rich chocolate dessert with a soft, pudding-like center. It bakes in the oven inside a dish of hot water, like a water bath. Swapping the original's date syrup for no-sugar-added chocolate and milk keeps the sugar low.

Method

  1. Preheat the oven to 160 °C.

  2. In a bowl, mix the egg, cocoa, oat flour, melted coconut oil and milk until smooth.

  3. Pour the batter into a small ovenproof bowl or ramekin.

  4. Press the chocolate pieces down into the batter.

  5. Set the bowl inside a larger baking dish filled with hot water.

  6. Bake for 15–20 minutes depending on the size of the dish; 15 minutes is enough in a small ramekin.

  7. Take it out of the oven and serve warm.
